About After School Programming

Our curriculum aims to implement a variety of study methods to keep the class engaging from beginning to end. Throughout the semester students will participate in prepared lessons, solve tactical puzzle worksheets to grow their calculation skills, train their board vision and memory through blindfold puzzles and mazes, play mini-games and participate in endgame workouts to learn about piece harmony and endgame theory, look over the games of world champions to gain a well-rounded positional understanding. Students will compete in a weekly friendly tournament and become comfortable with chess notation and game analysis in order to foster their growth mindset.

The teachers at Mastermind Chess aim to create a supportive and inclusive environment, making sure that every student regardless of their level can feel uplifted and engaged throughout the semester.
