THURSDAY: K-1 KNIGHTS
In this class we will study tactical principles by learning about tactical weaknesses and forcing moves : X-rays, Discovered Attacks, Forks, Pins, and Removing the Defender. We will introduce middle- game planning and study famous checkmating patterns. Each week we will dive into a new lesson for the first half of class and then play practice games to reinforce the material that we’ve been learning. In addition students will work on puzzle worksheets, and begin to learn about chess notation. At the end of the semester all students will receive prizes that showcase their individual growth.
All Students will be provided with a basic ChessKid Account
The semester will run for 10 weeks on Thursdays from 3:45–4:35
Dates: December 12th - March 13th (No Class: December 19th, 26th; January 2nd, February 20th)
